   During the lab Christmas party on December 24, 2010, Okabe and Fubuki suddenly collapse. Reading Steiner shifts Okabe from 1.129848% β to 1.382733% β, where the Soviet Union still exists.

2. Escorted by the SDF Through War-Torn Japan

   Okabe awakens in the rain amid a devastated Tokyo and learns that Japan is a battlefield in the US–Soviet time-machine war. The SDF protects him and initially plans to send him to Okinawa through Iruma Air Base.

3. Okinawa Reunion and Questioning About Other-World Memories

   After reaching Okinawa, Okabe reunites with Yuki and Fubuki. Shimoyama of the defense authorities tests whether they remember a history absent from this world line by asking about the Soviet leader, the Berlin Wall, and perestroika.

4. Seeing Amadeus Held by the US at Kadena

   At Kadena Air Base, US personnel put Okabe in a car and hand him a phone displaying Amadeus Kurisu. Before she speaks, Reading Steiner activates again.

5. Returning to 1.129954% β on January 21

   Okabe regains consciousness at the lab on January 21, 2011. He confirms that the Soviet Union dissolved and that he has moved from war-torn 1.382733% β to 1.129954% β.

6. Fubuki Retains Memories of the Soviet World Line

   Okabe visits Fubuki, hospitalized under the label “New Encephalitis,” and confirms that she remembers Okinawa and the Soviet world line. Cross-world-line memories can therefore be retained wholly or partly by people other than Okabe.

7. The January 23 Amadeus Call Branch

   In Pandora's Box, whether Okabe answers a call from Amadeus Kurisu on January 23 determines whether the story enters a failed ending or continues along Mayuri and Suzuha's main branch.
